The Annual Spring Conference provides education on the insurance industry’s most pressing issues. This year, PAMIC’s program focuses on hot topics in the industry such as fighting cybercrime, returning to the workplace, coverage gap solutions, and workplace violence/crisis management. The event includes a networking reception on the evening of March 9th, 2022.

8:45 - 9:45am: The Future of the Workplace

This session will take an in-depth look at how companies are approaching remote work and a return to the workplace in a post-pandemic modern world. Employee retention, talent recruitment, and creating a safe working environment will be examined, as well as the methods, technology, and mindset of continuing a hybrid or fully-remote work style versus a return to the office.

9:45 - 10:45am: Homeland Security Perspectives for Building Security Capacity, Capability and Resilience

Franco Cappa, CISSP, Chief of Cybersecurity, Region 3, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency

This presentation provides information about Federal services and resources available to critical infrastructure operators. Furthermore, it provides practical recommendations for dealing with ransomware and contemporary cyber threats.

This includes issues related to family businesses, retail environments, health care providers, restaurants, nightclubs, faith-based institutions, non-profit organizations, etc. It will also emphasize the challenges in trying to use traditional General Liability and Workers Compensation Insurance as a means of recovery from an event

The change of recent weather trends has impacted the insurance industry for property losses. Even in the Mid-Atlantic area, where most PAMIC members are domiciled, various storms have affected both commercial lines and personal lines books of business.  This presentation addressing the property losses and weather causes will bring insight into the rapidly changing environment.
