With inflation and rising reinsurance costs negatively affecting the industry, many mutuals are looking to maintain profitability by de-risking. As claims costs continue to rise, insurers are employing a range of short- and long-term strategies to reduce portfolio exposure, improve product profitability and reduce costs. Some of these tactics are long-standing and familiar. Others are novel and enabled by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. During this session, the panel will review the landscape of de-risking and discuss the strategies they think contribute most to building financial resilience.
