10:00 - 10:50 a.m. - Resilience is Not Optional - Managing the Challenges of the Claims Professions (geared towards newbies)

Claims adjusters are expected to be investigators, mediators, and negotiators amid disaster. Yet, they are human beings who are often left to cope – on their own – with the stress associated with the job. This is impacting our ability to respond as an industry and can be seen as a heightened risk to the health of the insurance industry ecosystem; but it’s an issue we often don’t want to speak about for those very reasons. Not dealing with this can lead to talent fallout, lack of stickiness in claims industry roles, and customer experience impacts. This session will focus on actionable steps claims professionals and leaders can take to manage the stresses of the role and build resilience with a focus on de-escalation techniques, communication, and engagement tactics.

The mutual insurance industry is undeniably a heavily regulated and legislated industry. In this environment, insurance employers and employees alike recognize that decisions made by these officials can impact their success for many years.  This adds an element of responsibility for those in the industry to  be engaged in the political process.  There is no better way to learn about the industry's regulatory climate and to have your voice heard than collectively at PAMIC's Mutual Insurance Day.

At this important and free-to-members event, you will have the opportunity to hear from PA Insurance Commissioner Michael Humphreys, as well as be updated on the most pressing issues that could impact the insurance industry.  Take advantage of this event to update seasoned employees or educate new employees of the ever-changing regulatory environment and how it affects operations.
