With Covid-19 and InsureTech taking the spotlight recently, this session goes behind the scenes and dives into the reality that many of us face with legacy systems migration. Our speakers share real challenges and offer advice for these projects such as the planning process, organizational change, dealing with technical debt, scarcity of resources as COBOL developers retire, and adopting new practices in DevOps and Agile development. We’ll also discuss a current project involving a migration from a 25-year old legacy platform. All of us face many of the same underlying challenges discussed in other projects making this a very beneficial presentation for everyone in and outside of IT. Open discussion, Q&A is encouraged!

Market data shows a steady transition of data centers to the Cloud. The environment may be managed by the carrier, a core systems vendor, or a managed service provider. This session includes a panel who will examine the challenges Carriers face in adjusting to this transition and the strategies that they are adopting to maximize the outcomes. We will also look at the reasons why Carriers should welcome this shift and conclude by discussing how to prepare and position themselves properly.

This isn’t just your normal COVID-19 session! Join Nancy who will take us through the very interesting, and sometimes overlooked human and technical best practices for leading your company in the “new norm” – a permanent, diverse landscape of mixed and remote staff. Nancy will take us through some statistics and the changes that have occurred over the last few months and the very interesting aspects of the human factor. She will provide guidance on how to adapt and improve your leadership practices moving forward.
