Future Leaders in Insurance Student Pipeline Project Underway:  Your PAMIC HR/Student Involvement Committee met recently to kick off planning for the PAMIC Future Leaders in Insurance Student Pipeline Project.  This initiative will introduce college students to careers in insurance while providing education and networking opportunities that ideally lead to employment.  Stay tuned for more information on the project.  PAMIC has met with the following colleges or universities regarding partnership with their risk management, business or finance students:  COLLEGES WILL INCLUDE BLOOMSBURG, MANSFIELD, LOCKHAVEN, NEUMANN AND  ALVERNIA.Companies who wish to be part of this program should contact Becky Ferris @ rferris@pamic.org.

PAMIC’s Financial Management Seminar was held last week at the Hershey Country Club in Hershey, PA.

Please join us in welcoming two new members to the PAMIC Board of Directors: Gary A. Williams from Mutual Benefit Group and Eric Raski of Millville Mutual Insurance Company!  Gary and Eric were elected to serve on the PAMIC Board at our recent Annual Meeting held during the 116th Annual Convention at Nemacolin Resort. 

 

Eric Raski is the President of Millville Mutual Insurance Company in Millville, Pennsylvania.  Eric has been with Millville since 2012, and rose to President in 2020.  Eric has previously served on PAMIC Board of Directors from from 2014-2018. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Nicholas Wolff Foundation (Camp Victory), Albright Care Services and Mutual Inspection Bureau.

 

Eric holds a BS in engineering from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Bloomsburg University.  He resides in Bloomsburg, PA with his wife Jamie, and their two children Matthew and Benjamin. 

Gary Williams is the President and CEO of Mutual Benefit Group and has been with Mutual Benefit Group since April 2022.  He has over 25 years of insurance industry experience, which started in various management roles at National General and Aviva, and serving in executive roles at USAA since 2010.

 

Gary holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s degree in business administration from Wake Forest University in North Carolina, as well as serving in the U.S. Air Force.  He resides in Huntingdon, PA with his wife Jada, and daughter, Kennedy. 

PAMIC's 116^th Annual Convention, Mutually Connected, was held earlier this month at Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, PA.  We had two full days of education, networking and some of that Nemacolin "real-life magic" to top it off!

Attendees were able to connect (and learn to how connect) over emerging issues, including hybrid work challenges, executive perspectives on the state of the industry, the legal and litigation environment in PA, best practices for ERM programs, and AI and other technologies used to combat risk.  Outside of the classroom, members had the opportunity to network and connect at various events with their mutual insurance peers, including a young professional axe throwing event, Falling Water tours, world-class golf and the many other amenities Nemacolin had to offer. 

During Convention at the PAMIC Annual Meeting, we welcomed our new Board Chairman, Erin Selfe from Pennsylvania Lumbermens Mutual Insurance Company, and thanked outgoing Board Chairman, Todd Salsman from Tuscarora Wayne Insurance Group.
