Last week, a group of PAMIC members visited the nation’s Capitol to participate in the 2022 NAMIC CCP. The Pennsylvania delegation met at the NAMIC offices along with NAMIC members from Idaho, Oregon, Texas and North Carolina to prepare for scheduled visits with lawmakers the following day. Industry representatives from Lititz Mutual and Pennsylvania Lumbermens joined PAMIC President Lisa Katterman and NAMIC Manager
Andrew Malin in advocating for the mutual industry and asking lawmakers for their support of a state-based system of insurance regulation, support of policies that increase American’s resiliency, oppose efforts to undermine the use of risk based pricing in underwriting of insurance products, and support efforts to ensure access to auto-generated accident data. The delegation canvassed the Capitol Complex in their meetings with the offices of Representatives Scott Perry, Madeleine Dean, Lloyd Smucker, Dan Meuser, John Joyce and Senator Pat Toomey. Thanks to all of the members who volunteered their time and resources to ensure our voices are heard at the federal level. While there are a litany of issues taking on the front pages, we must ensure that these lawmakers are familiar with issues and understand our concerns.
